Host a peace meal

The scrumptious dishes above were prepared and shared with us during PIEN’S online cooking class with Lama Qasem & Claudia Hyles,

‘Cuisine & Culture in Conversation’.

Delicious food was prepared over engaging culinary and cultural conversation. Lama introduced Claudia not only to the background of the dishes and ingredients, but also to her Palestinian family’s own story amidst the background of the occupation of their land. The recording of the cooking class can be found here and here is a short video on how to prepare Hareeseh (Semolina cake) pictured below.

The cooking class was the first part of our two-pronged awareness raising / fundraiser with recipes provided to those who registered for the class.

The second part to this fundraiser invites you to sign up to ‘HOST A PEACE MEAL’.

We invite you to host your own dinner party using the recipes we will provide and utilizing the video of the cooking class as a guide. As awareness raising is also part of this initiative we will provide you with:

  • talking points to engage in dinner conversation
  • links to short videos you could show between courses
  • other resources to share

Suggested fee for dinner guests – $20 per head (to be donated to PIEN).
