If only Palestinians were afforded the same opportunity to be heard. As the photo above shows, Palestinians queue in the early hours of the morning waiting for the Checkpoint to open. The process is long and mechanical with no prospects for Palestinians to engage with Israeli soldiers if they are denied entry. After queuing for hours, their only alternative is to return home, potentially losing a day’s work, if the scanning machine rejects their permit.
